The thrill of adrenaline while drifting on ice is what makes braving the frigid cold temperatures all worth while. Ice racing has been a milestone for our club in Thunder Bay extending out to member’s from all over Ontario and the States for over 50 years. Pushing the boundaries of speed on ice can be experienced in our two classes; rubber to ice, and studded. From the finesse skill that is demanded by the rubber class, to the full throttle battle of our studded class. There is something to satisfy everyone’s need for speed.
Winter racing not for you? Our summer program, AutoX, is the next best form of racing. A single car timed event where driver’s precisely maneuver their car through a sea of cones for the best time. Course design and location varies per race day requiring driver’s to adapt to varying conditions. It’s a race against time per class between 2 -6 runs at every event date.
The Thunder Bay Autosport Club is about giving back to the community. We participate in the Poker Run Camp Quality Northwestern Ontario Fundraiser helping children with cancer. We also hold annual fundraiser’s such as the Northern Cancer Fund, and the Northern Cardiac Fund through the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation. We have also extended our gratitude to the Furget-me-not Animal Shelter in Terrace Bay as well. We devote our time to giving back to those in need.
